"It was unanimous that we should have an association to represent the growing number of international banks so a meeting was convened by the Steering Committee on the 27th August 1984 at the Imperial Services Club on York St. To our delight, 52 Representatives of the 101 international banks in Australia attended the meeting and talked about the possible future functions of the proposed new entity. There was a positive feeling at this meeting and many interesting ideas and thoughts were exchanged lubricated by modest servings of hospitality by the Club... The first meeting of the Committee of the newly formed OBAA was held at the office of Euro Partners on 18th April, 1985."
